The stories behind the statistics.
At Neighbourly Lab, we believe in the power of both action and storytelling to address loneliness. While our work with the Tackling Loneliness Hub continues to support professionals through research, resources, and collaboration, it’s essential to also shine a light on the personal stories behind the statistics.
This is where the incredible work of documentary maker Izabella Thornley comes in.
In her latest mini-documentary, featuring our former colleague Emma Bowkett, Izabella explores the deeply human side of loneliness. Emma shares her reflections on the profound emotional and social impacts of loneliness, which too often go unseen and the work that Neighbourly Lab does to tackle the Loneliness epidemic and increase social connection.
This documentary adds a personal dimension to the statistics, showing the real people behind the data. It serves as a powerful reminder that loneliness affects everyone and that addressing it requires both professional collaboration and an understanding of personal experiences.
